Strategies to End Homelessness for Seniors & Special Populations Thursday, September 26, 2019 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM (9-9:30am is registration, networking and coffee/pastries) West Sacramento Community Center 1075 West Capitol Avenue West Sacramento, CA 95691 Topics will include: Serving Seniors & Special Populations: Participate in a facilitated discussion on best practice strategies to address the rising numbers of senior citizens and other special populations experiencing homelessness in our communities. Living Homeless in RVs/Vehicles: Learn about new "safe parking" programs, and emerging practices to address persons experiencing homelessness living in cars and recreational vehicles. NOFA Roundtable: Participate in faciliated breakout discussions on steps to prepare for current and upcoming state and federal funding opportunities, including the Homeless Housing and Assistance Program (HHAP), Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project (YHDP), and others. A final agenda is coming soon. Parking: There is ADA parking in the Community Center parking lot. For everyone else, please park in the "Event Parking" lot between the Community Center and Walgreens, across the street from Safeway. Parking is limited, so please carpool whenever possible. If you register and are unable to attend, please let us know 24 hours in advance. If you do not let us know in time, we will ask you to cover your registration cost (since we have pre-ordered food for you).
