Lean Innovator Business Workshop Series
From the beginning, the Granite City community has been about betting ourselves and our business. In cooperation with Dan Casas-Murry and SBDC, we are excited to roll out our first workshop series. Join like-minded movers and shakers to kick off the fall strong by investing in yourself and your business. Learn from Dan Casas-Murry, the founder at The Lean Innovator, an organization that helps entrepreneurs locate and engage with their target markets, enabling them to build a customer base before launching a startup. Join us at Granite City Coworking from Sep 3rd to Oct 8th! Each session will be on Tuesdays from 10am to 12pm, starting on September 3rd. The class format will be 50% lecture and 50% hands-on with weekly homework assignments. Note-taking is encouraged. Participants usually find that the time required outside of ‘class’ is from 5-15 hours per week. Series: How to Build (and Sell) Something People Want. All the books on Lean Startup and Customer Development are awesome, but there’s one shortfall: they tell you what to do once you’ve got customers. They don’t tell you where to find them. In the beginning, that whole ‘find customers’ task seems like any other, but if you’ve tried to execute on it, you’ve likely discovered that the ‘customer’ is an elusive creature. Engaging with a non-existent customer base is...well, not really a thing. It’s frustrating and can be a real threat to your momentum. So where are you going to find the customers? The bad news is that there is not a customer store where you can purchase an engaged audience. Like a relevant and worthwhile one. The good news is that it’s not a mystery. Over the last 3 years, the folks at The Lean Innovator have developed a simple process you can learn in 6 weeks that will help you identify your customers, pull meaningful data from them, and push builds to them once you’ve established traction. We’ve created a boot camp that will show you how to develop a customer base before launch. In this course, you’ll learn: Customer Profile Development & Customer Interview Market Research Value Proposition Design & Product Statement The Hero’s Journey 1 Minute Pitch Traction Testing Collateral Design You’ll walk away from this course with a framework you can practice over and over as you iterate over new ideas and innovations. You’ll learn the expertise you need to build and develop customers concurrently. Plus, we’ll give you access to goodies like the slide decks and downloadable worksheets.
