AFTD's Food for Thought
This event is one of the more than 80 events being held nationwide and worldwide during AFTD's 7th annual FOOD for THOUGHT campaign to educate people and bring awareness about Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD). While often misdiagnosed, FTD is the most common form of dementia for people under 60. As stated on 60 MINUTES -FTD "is the most horrible disease you've never heard of". FTD is often associated with ALS and other neurological diseases. Five members of the Walter family have died from FTD. Several other Sacramentans have had FTD in different varieties, most recently David Wetzl, a member of the art community, is affect by Behavioral variant FTD (bvFTD), the most common form. Please come and enjoy tasty wines and some great appetizers and desserts. More than seven sponsoring wineries will be pouring their delicious selections, and several more have provided wines for the raffles. In addition, we have some great art to enjoy and to purchase through Silent Auction. We also have raffle prizes which include certificates, golf, and much more.
